Health Insurance

I am registered with a number of major health insurance companies. If you intend to use insurance to cover your sessions, please mention this at the time of booking. These are some of the insurance providers I am registered with:

BUPA, Pru Health, AXA PPP, Aviva, Simply Health, Cigna, Allianz, WPA, Vanbreda, HTH

If your provider is not listed here, it may be possible for me to register with them. Please mention this at the time of booking.

Using health insurance to cover your therapy sessions

In the past, if you wished to use health insurance for therapy sessions you would need to be referred by a psychiatrist. Today this is seen as a rather outdated idea, and most insurers are happy for you to approach me directly.

In some cases, a provider may require you to see your GP before coming to us, and this is generally a quick and easy process. It is a good idea to contact your insurer to clarify their particular requirements before you contact me.

Some providers will cover clients for a certain number of sessions, while others will allocate a lump sum. If you are approaching the limit of your current cover it can be possible to obtain a re-authorisation.

If you would like to do this, it is important to discuss this with your insurer well in advance, as the process can take a number of days and may result in a disruptive break in your therapy.

Important—My standard cancellation and holding fees apply for sessions covered by health insurance. You are personally responsible for charges for missed sessions, unless your insurance provider agrees to cover them.

Please see my client agreement.
